Improve Your Community! Apply now for the Ellensburg Engaged Ethics Competition
Do you want to make the world a better place? Can you think of local community needs or problems where you could make a difference?
In partnership with the City of Ellensburg, the CWU EthicsLab is now accepting applications for the first annual Ellensburg Engaged Ethics Competition. In this competition, local high school and college students design and implement a project that does as much good as possible for the Ellensburg community. Projects will focus on community needs in areas like health, environment, or supporting social networks or community resiliency. Eligible teams may apply and receive support for up to $400 towards project expenses (subject to university and state requirements). Projects will be supervised by the CWU EthicsLab, publicly presented in late Fall 2023, and judged by community leaders.
Prompt: Design and implement a project that does as much good as possible for the Ellensburg community.
Instructions:
- Form a team: Teams will consist of 4-5 local students (high school and/or university).
- Develop your idea: Projects should focus on addressing a local need in an area like health, environment, or supporting social networks or community resiliency.
- Submit your team application: Submit an application that outlines your project idea and plan. CWU EthicsLab will reach out to your group for next steps.
