From the President: New Chief of Staff and Executive Director of IE

Dear Colleagues,

Central Washington University is pleased to welcome two team members to executive roles this summer — one who is new to the university and one who has been with us for five years.

First, CWU is excited to welcome Dr. Andrew Morse as our new Chief of Staff. Dr. Morse will be joining the Wildcat family from University of Northern Iowa, where he has served as Chief of Staff since 2017. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding community, state, and federal government relations, as well as executive-level strategic planning, presidential advising, and operational effectiveness skills. He has more than 13 years of higher education experience in a variety of faculty and student success roles, and we look forward to welcoming Dr. Morse starting September 1.

Second, Dr. Jonathon Henderson has been promoted to Interim Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Planning role. Dr. Henderson has been a valuable CWU employee since 2017, serving as the Associate Director of Research for Institutional Effectiveness (IE) and developing a strong foundational background in CWU-specific data and research projects. His previous experiences and responsibilities in Information Services, along with his institutional knowledge and commitment to CWU success, highlights his ability to engage in this leadership role and advance our IE department. Dr. Henderson started his new role on August 1.

Thank you to both search committees for their hard work and dedication in selecting excellent candidates as we advance CWU into the future.

Sincerely,

A. James Wohlpart
CWU President
