CWU student Jenessa Hill's art exhibit, "I am ...," will be on display in Randall Hall starting this week

Central Washington University student Jenessa Hill is working to help change the way society views plus-size women through a deeply personal art exhibition.

Hill was featured on KAPP-KVEW television news over the weekend.

The exhibition, titled "I am...," will be on display in Randall Hall this week, beginning with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. today (Monday).

Hill said she wanted to celebrate bodies in all their different shapes and sizes.

"Growing up it's really hard when you're a plus-size kid," Hill said, adding that she didn't always feel comfortable in her own body. "I'm still working on loving myself, but I'm getting there. That's what my art is about and I just want to express what I went through and how I feel and I hope that other people can relate to it."

Hill said she hopes to channel her passion into a future career as an art professor.
