Employee Council Goals and Objectives
The Employee Council serves as an information conduit by engaging employee council members to serve and/or attend University Committees, Councils, Task Forces and Team meetings for the purposes of receiving and relaying information relevant to CWU classified staff. This information is then presented to the classified staff during the monthly open Employee Council meetings.
To enhance employee work/life balance the Employee Council monthly open meetings will strive to provide guest speakers and resources to embrace and celebrate our CWU community, support career and personal development and educational presentations.
The classified staff "Employee of the Month" and "Employee of the Year" are recognition award opportunities that the Employee Council continues to upport and uplift. Both of these awards are collective opportunities to recognize our fellow colleagues for their diligence, and dedication to the mission of CWU.

Employee of the Month
Initiated by Employee Council, recognition will be given to employees who foster a personalized environment which supports members of the university community as well as the mission of Central Washington University. This award was created so that employees who go beyond their typical job responsibilities, who offer unique contributions to their work unit and/or the university as a whole, who have a significant positive impact on those they work with or come in contact with, and who consistently perform for the betterment of CWU could be recognized for their work.
Anyone may nominate an employee for this award. Award recipients will receive a $125 monetary award and award certificate presented during a quarterly celebration.
