Craft Brewing

College of the Sciences

CWU Craft Brewing Research Lab

In June 2018, the program moved to a facility just north of campus, a 3,900 square foot warehouse building leased from the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. This building has become known as the Brewing Research Lab and is where our students receive experiential brewing and learn best industry practices.

CWU Craft Brewing uses several MoreBeer B3 flat brew sculptures.  These systems allow small student groups to brew up to 10 gallons of craft beer at a time. Students are able to perform experiments and receive hands-on instruction with these pilot brewing systems. In addition to brewing, students are able to ferment their beer, package it, and later sample for sensory evaluation.
