Northwest Center for Sport

Vision
At the Northwest Center for Sport, we are committed to advancing knowledge and experiential opportunities for students to allow them to lead the sport industry into the future.
Mission
The NWCS provides networking, professional development, and advanced learning to students, faculty, and industry partners. We seek progress in diverse representation, inclusive leadership, and equitable treatment within our programs, center activities, and the wider sport industry.
Who We Are
In an effort to connect our students to all facets of the sport industry, we have hosted on- campus and virtual guest speakers from the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Kraken, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Sounders, Portland Trail Blazers, PGA Tour, PAC-12 Networks, BYU Athletics, Michigan State University Athletics, Yakima Pippins, Root Sports, the WIAA, Department of Defense, Sport Singapore, and our own CWU Athletics.
We host conferences like our Annual CWU Northwest Sport Management Summit featuring current leaders from the sport industry. We also hold a student trip each year, taking students to events and venues such as the Portland Trail Blazers Career Fair, the Nike Campus, Moda Center, and the Hillsboro Hops Ron Tonkin Field.
At the NWCS, there are opportunities for those interested in serving as a member of our undergraduate Sport Management Association and leadership opportunities in serving as a graduate student Northwest Center for Sport Ambassador.

We feel very fortunate for the feedback from our NWCS Advisory Board members that participated and are high-level management/administrators within the sport industry with their expertise on best practices for resumes, cover letters and job search basics. Please review the documents below and take this feedback into consideration for your own professional materials...they are those within sport that do the hiring. Enjoy!
