Middle-Level Science Minor
Why choose to minor in Middle-Level Science?
- Science leaders are in high demand nationwide. Many schools and other organizations are hiring elementary science leaders and specialists.
- Learn science the way you will teach it in your classroom: through engaging, hands-on activities that build your content and teaching skills at the same time.
- Get experience teaching science in real K-8 classrooms. Kids are natural scientists, and you’ll find teaching science rewarding and fun!
- SCED 101, SCED 102, SCED 103, and SCED 305 are double dippers. They will count for both general education requirements and the Middle-Level Science minor!
This Middle-Level Science is open to students in any education major, as well as other students as appropriate. This minor is not endorsable, but will prepare students to be high-demand science leaders in schools. In addition, students who have another certification (such as Elementary Education) and pass the NES in Middle-Level Science can add an endorsement in Middle Level Science.
