MS Admissions Requirements

Admission Requirements for Law and Justice, MS

To apply for admission to the Law and Justice Master of Science Degree Program applicants need to provide the following:

  1. A personal statement that tells the faculty why they are seeking a Master of Science Degree in Law and Justice
  2. A copy of your undergraduate transcripts
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPA
  4. Email addresses of 3 individuals who can write a letter of recommendation on their behalf. We encourage applicants to have at least two of those letter be from their professors, while one letter can be from some like a boss, ministered, or non-academic mentor.
  5. Optional – Applicants may provide a copy of their resume
We no longer require students to submit a writing sample for admissions.

The minimum GPA required for admission is 3.0 for the last 90 quarter or 60 semester credits. However, the faculty can grant probationary admission if the applicant’s GPA is below 3.0 if the application is otherwise very strong. While the priority deadline to submit application for Fall enrollment is Feb. 1, the Law and Justice faculty continue to review admission until a suitable cohort is formed.

Along with the cohort model, the Law and Justice Master of Science Degree Program utilizes a specific course sequence for the core/required courses. Due to the course sequence, we require students to begin the program in the Fall.

Please note that the Master of Science Degree Program is an Ellensburg, campus-based program.

If you’re completing the application as part of the Dual-Degree (formally known as the 4+1) pathway, be sure that you select the term following the completion of the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts Degree. For example, if you will complete you BS/BA in Spring of 2027, you need to select Fall of 2027 as your start date.
