  • Non-Profit and NGO Work: Ours graduates can find fulfilling careers in non-profit organizations and NGOs. They may work in program development, project management, fundraising, or community outreach, focusing on gender-based violence prevention, reproductive health initiatives, LGBTQIA+ support services, or gender equity programs.
  • Research and Policy Analysis: You may choose to pursue careers in research and policy analysis, working for think tanks, research institutes, government agencies, or non-profit organizations, conducting research on gender and sexuality issues and providing evidence-based recommendations to inform policies and initiatives.
  • Social Services: With your education, you will have the skills to pursue careers in social services, providing support and advocacy for individuals and communities impacted by gender-based violence and discrimination.
  • Media and Communications: Careers in media and communications are also viable options. Graduates can work as journalists, writers, editors, or content creators, contributing to media outlets that focus on gender issues, LGBTQ+ representation, or social justice themes. They can also work in public relations or marketing, helping organizations promote inclusive messaging and campaigns.

Queer and Trans Council

CWU’s Queer and Trans Council promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion as central values in support of student success. The purpose of the council is to identify issues related to LGBTQ+ individuals at CWU, to create space for conversation about these issues, and to build community and offer support. The council is co-led by Michel Eliatamby-O’Brien, Director of CWU’s Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies program.
