About the Wine Trade and Tourism Minor

The Wine Trade and Tourism Minor at CWU seeks to develop future leaders in wine trade and tourism, providing you with the skills necessary to navigate the evolving needs of the wine tourism industry.

We cover a diverse range of topics, including wine production, global wine markets, wine marketing strategies, and the intricacies of wine tourism. As a student in our program, you'll learn not just in the classroom, but also in the vineyards, wineries, and businesses that define our region.

Why Study Wine Trade and Tourism at CWU?

Our courses are designed to provide you with insights into the global wine industry and the emerging field of wine tourism.

This minor can be a valuable complement to a range of major fields of study, from hospitality and tourism to business and marketing. This versatility can make you more marketable to employers in a variety of sectors.

We have some great winemaking and viticulture programs in Washington, but what needed to be addressed was how to get the products to market,” Program Director Jill Perillo Clark said. “I like to think we have built our own little niche at Central with our focus on the business side, and I feel really good about our program being able to address a growing need in our state.”
