Mathematics: Secondary Education, BA


The Mathematics Secondary Education program prepares you to teach high school math.

Our courses develop your advanced mathematical skills while also connecting to high school topics such as algebra, geometry, and statistics. You’ll learn different ways to cultivate meaningful student learning and a love of mathematics. This major typically pairs with the STEM Teaching major giving you valuable hands-on experience in actual high school classrooms. Shape the future by instilling a strong foundation in mathematics and fostering a growth mindset for the next generation of citizens, leaders, and professionals.

Option One: Teaching Track

This pathway completes the criteria for a teaching endorsement in Mathematics (Grades 5-12), qualifying students for teacher certification in Washington state.

Option Two: Non-Endorsement Option

Completing the program without certification is also an option if you are interested in informal STEM education or curriculum development.
