Careers and Opportunities

Our Health and Physical Education, MS has provided graduates with the information and work ethic to be effective teachers. Some of our graduates continue to publish journal articles and books, while others have been recognized as state and regional teachers of the year.

  • Physical Education Teacher: You can pursue a career as a physical education teacher in elementary, middle, or high schools. With an MS degree, you may be eligible for leadership positions within the school, such as department head.
  • Health Education Specialist: Health education specialists work in schools, community organizations, or healthcare settings to promote healthy behaviors and provide education on various health topics. They develop and implement health education programs and may also conduct research related to health promotion.
  • Athletic Director: You could pursue a career as an athletic director. This role involves overseeing sports programs, managing budgets, scheduling athletic events, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Program Information

    Students attend the program as a cohort starting during the first summer and continuing until they graduate the following summer. The cohort format enhances a feeling of support and collegial relationships that continue until the culmination of the online program.

    Duration of Program: 5 quarters; 45 total credits

    Format:

    • Summer: 6 credits (Online)
    • Fall, Winter, and Spring: 30 credits (Online)
    • Summer: 9 credits (Online)
