College of Arts and Humanities
English Language and Literature
Bachelor of Arts | Major
English Language and Literature, BA
This program explores language, literature, and creative expression through a rich array of historical periods and global perspectives—examining what kinds of stories writers pass down and what tools we can use to understand them.
At the core of our major is the belief that we can find community through our shared exploration of texts and the different ideas we each take from them. By engaging with the perspectives of others and contributing your voice, you will forge connections with fellow students, faculty, and broader communities. Exploring creative works from diverse cultures and historical periods expands your understanding of the world and fosters empathy and appreciation for different perspectives and experiences.
