Hands-On Learning
As an Elementary Education major, you'll specialize in kindergarten to grade 8 education and receive hands-on field experience in elementary schools every quarter.

We integrate our teaching with authentic materials and technology, best practices in pedagogy and assessment, and the accentuation of a positive classroom environment through classroom management techniques that empower students to be intrinsically motivated to learn.
Add an Endorsement
An endorsement is a Washington State teaching certificate area, and any elementary education major may add a second endorsement. CWU offers 25 different major and minor endorsements including dance, bilingual education, math, and science.
Starting Salary
The starting salary in Seattle Public Schools was $63,000 in 2022, while master’s degree graduates started at $76,000 per year. Teacher salaries in WA state are becoming the highest in the nation.
