  • Environmental Chemistry, where you’ll explore chemical principles related to pollution and sustainability, preparing you to address real-world environmental challenges. 
  • Instrumental Analysis, which offers hands-on training with advanced laboratory tools like gas and liquid chromatographs, ensuring you develop practical skills for modern research. 
  • Transition Metal Chemistry, where you’ll examine the role of metals in catalysis and bioinorganic systems, with a focus on their applications in industry and medicine. 

Scholarship Opportunities


Dorothy Dean Memorial Chemistry Scholarship 

  • Open to junior or senior chemistry majors
  • Recipients are selected by Chemistry Department faculty
Jerry and Gail Jones Alumni Scholarship 
  • Available to upper-division students
  • Recipients are chosen by a Chemistry Department committee
Robert R. Vance Scholarship 
  • Awarded to junior and senior students majoring in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or physics
  • Provides $5,000 annually, with eligibility for a second year of funding if academic progress is maintained
