Modern States is a non-profit organization dedicated to lowering the financial and time commitment barriers to higher education. Partnering with edX, the online learning platform developed by Harvard and MIT, Modern States offers more than 30 free courses designed to prep you for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests, even going so far as to pay for your testing fee.

Once you've completed your free Modern States coursework and study materials, you will be given a voucher to schedule and take a CLEP exam. Upon completing the appropriate exam with the necessary minimum score, you will be granted CWU credits applicable towards their general education requirements.
