CWU Student Green Fund
We are excited to announce the rollout of CWU's Student Green Fund (SGF)!
CWU students can submit their applications using this link.
Use this link to read the SGF Executive Summary to learn more about this exciting initiative!
As a friendly reminder, the SGF supports student-driven sustainability projects on campus, while empowering students with hands-on project experience, increasing campus engagement, and fostering care for the planet and environment.
We currently have seven students serving on the SGF Committee. The SGF Committe will convene in February and March to review the SGF bylaws and meeting procedures.
While we will be accepting student applications on a rolling basis, here are the established deadlines for students to submit applications.
- SGF Application Deadline #1: Friday, March 28th
- SGF Application Deadline #2: Wednesday, April 30th
The SGF Committee will meet soon after the deadlines to review proposals, watch student presentations, and vote on projects for award.
We would like to express our appreciation to the Sustainability Council, ASCWU, and the CWU Financial Management team for their support, feedback, and guidance throughout this entire process.
CWU's Climate Change Action Plan
Central Washington University's Climate Change Action Plan (CAP) has been finalized, which will serve as the university’s strategic roadmap to becoming a zero-carbon campus no later than 2050. You can review CWU's flipping book version of CWU's CAP by using this link.
CWU's CAP focuses primarily on priorities, goals, strategies, and actions to be accomplished before the end of 2030. The CAP is comprised of objectives and strategies across 11 focus areas, including energy, transportation, built infrastructure, and education/curriculum.Per CWU’s Institutional Strategic Plan, CWU is committed to developing and implementing our first-official, university-wide CAP, which will serve as a holistic roadmap to decarbonize CWU’s infrastructure and operations, develop impactful sustainability programming for the campus community, advance environmental justice, and prepare our students for successful careers. Additionally, CWU is committed to integrating sustainability into university-wide curriculum to provide students with the knowledge, skills, competencies, and values necessary to shape an equitable and sustainable future.

Director of CWU Capital Planning and Projects, Delano Palmer, presents at a CWU Sustainability Forum during the fall quarter of 2023.
