Change to Image Uploading in CascadeCMS

What's Changing?
Beginning January 1, 2026, images, and files will only be able to be uploaded directly into your site’s _images or _documents folders.
Once the image is uploaded to that folder, you may continue selecting and inserting it through the image tool in the WYSIWYG editor. That workflow will remain the same.
The only change is that you will no longer be able to upload images directly from your computer through the WYSIWYG interface.
What's Next
For a step-by-step guide, please refer to our training video. We recommend becoming familiar with this updated process as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition once the WYSIWYG upload option is removed.
Why is this changing
This change is being implemented to support required accessibility standards and to address a known Cascade CMS issue that allows users to bypass file-size limits when uploading images through the WYSIWYG editor. Ensuring all images meet file-size requirements is an essential part of maintaining an accessible, performant, and compliant website.
Things to keep in mind
Naming conventions:
- Images and files names should follow these simple guidelines:
- Do not use spaces in your file name. Use dashes.
- Fie names should not include versions or dates
- Do not use punctuation or special characters/symbols
- Upload images to the _images foldler, and files to the _documents folder
