Retirement Plan Options Based on Position Type
As a CWU employee, a key part of your compensation and future security is your retirement plan. Additionally, optional investment programs are available to add funds toward your future at any time.
Faculty
Central Washington University Retirement Plan (CWURP), a 403(b), defined contribution plan with required contribution rates based on age and 100% matching by the university.
OR
Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) Plan 3, which consists of a defined contribution and defined benefit component. See TRS Plan 3.
Administrative/Exempt Staff
Central Washington University Retirement Plan (CWURP), a 403(b), defined contribution plan with required contribution rates based on age and 100% matching by the university.
OR
Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) Plan 3, which consists of a defined contribution and defined benefit component. See PERS Plan 3.
Classified Staff
Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) Plan 2 or 3.
OR
Campus Police participate in the Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' Retirement System (LEOFF).
PERS and LEOFF are defined benefit pension plans administered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
Voluntary Investment Plan (VIP) - Optional
The VIP is a supplemental retirement savings plan available under IRC Section 403b.
Washington State Deferred Compensation Program - Optional
The DCP is a supplemental retirement savings program available under IRC Section 457.
