Our Capital Planning and Facilities Maintenance team are constantly working on improving our beautiful campus through various operational, preservation, and safety projects. Some of these projects may cause a temporary inconvenience that we ask you to be patient with as the project completions improve the overall student experience. Individual projects and interruptions listed below.

CAMPUS DETOURS / REROUTES
CWU Scheduled Emergency Building Lockdown Test – April 17, 2026 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
This is a notice that CWU has scheduled another campus-wide emergency lockdown building test. It will take place on Friday, April 17, from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM.
During this test:
- All buildings with electronic access will be locked (including interior electronic access).
- Employee and resident access cards will not function during the test window. Anyone who leaves a building during this time will not be able to re-enter until the test concludes, so please plan accordingly.
- Police will be on site throughout the test and will be checking doors to ensure systems are functioning properly.

2026 Concrete Repair Project Information
The schedule has been set for concrete repairs around our CWU campus.
This project will address several areas where concrete has deteriorated or become a safety concern.
Project Timeline
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- Completion Date: July 14, 2026
During this period, crews will be repairing and replacing concrete in multiple locations. Work areas may be temporarily fenced off, and some walkways or access points could be rerouted to ensure safety. No work will occur on the weekends.
We appreciate your patience as we complete these improvements. These repairs are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and accessible campus environment.

Quigley Hall Project Site Layout Information
On Monday (4/6), construction fencing was placed around the Quigley Hall project site. If you have any questions, please email facilities.management@cwu.edu.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2026.
Impact to P-8 Parking Lot - Indefinitely
The parking lot north of the Library (P-8) will have a section of the lot fenced off for utility work area. This work is in collaboration of the NAC Project.

Brooks Library Phase 2 HVAC Upgrade
A construction fence will be going up on either Friday April 11th or Monday April 14th for the Brooks Library Phase 2 HVAC Upgrade Project.

Psychology Building Lawn Closure Starting May 20th
The south and east lawn of the Psychology building will be closed until further notice for the construction of the Geothermal Extraction Well starting Monday, May 20th. Please see map for alternate temporary routes for access to the Psychology building.
