Students and NFL Players Build a School in Nicaragua

Central Washington University students and other volunteers helping to build a trade school in impoverished Nicaragua in February had extra help from a handful of current and former pro football players, including Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse.
“I was really surprised at how just down to earth and ready to work they were, given they kind of didn’t know what they were getting themselves into,” said Corrine Pruett, a junior.
Kearse, along with Browns receiver Philip Bates, former linebacker Eric Barton and former receiver D’Andre Goodwin volunteered.
Pruett said she didn’t think any of them had been out of the United States before the trip.
“It was cool to help them process what was going on,” she said.
