Student Publications Win National Best of Show Awards

The Observer won first place in the Best of Show contest for four-year weeklies at the Associated Collegiate Press National College Media Convention over the weekend in Los Angeles.

Pulse magazine took fourth in the Best of Show contest for feature magazines.

The contest had a total of 143 entries.

Journalism professor and Observer advisor Cynthia Mitchell said she couldn't be more proud of the talented student journalists who report and write the stories, take and edit the pictures, edit the copy, write the headlines and design the pages.
