Smith Notches GNAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

Central Washington University softball pitcher Kayla Smith garnered Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors the conference office announced today.

The freshman Smith started her first two games of her career on the road against Northwest Nazarene and was responsible for both of the Wildcats' victories over the weekend.

She completed both games giving up a total of one run, seven hits and just two walks, including a three hit shutout in her first start. The Crusader batters hit just .156 off Smith who lowered her season ERA to 0.54.

Central is back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 22) to take on GNAC rival Western Washington in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
