Rugby Earns Top Seed in NIRA National Championship Tournament

The Central Washington University women's rugby team secured a number one ranking in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA), and a first round by in the seven team NIRA National Championship Tournament.

The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association is comprised of 15 member institutions. Each of these institutions sponsor NCAA rugby at their respective divisional levels and are committed to the expansion of women's rugby at the highest level with eventual full sponsorship by the NCAA.

The Wildcats will face the winner of #4 American International College and #5 Dartmouth College on November 18 in West Point, New York at noon PST. The victor of the second round matchup will advance to the NIRA National Championship on Sunday, November 20 at the same location with kickoff slated for 11 a.m. PST.

The Wildcats finished the fall 8-2, 4-0 against NIRA opponents.
