Pre-Thanksgiving Optional COVID-19 Testing on November 12-13

  • November 3, 2020

On November 12 and 13, Central Washington University will host Pre-Thanksgiving Optional COVID-19 Testing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Nicholson Pavilion Field House. The COVID testing will provide students with information to allow them to better protect their families and loved ones who may be older or immune compromised.

The COVID-19 test is free to students and you are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance via the CWU Student Health Services webpage. You can get a test without an appointment; however, there may be a short wait. Appointments should last no longer than 15 minutes.

Results should be available in 3-4 days. You will not be required to quarantine while waiting for results. Housing will be available for on-campus residents who test positive.

Students will also be subject to mandatory testing when they return for winter quarter. Students may choose to be tested at home but must provide us with the results upon their return. The test must be equivalent to the PCR tests (polymerase chain reaction or rapid test) used on campus and should be no older than 72 hours (from the time it was performed to the time it is provided to campus health officials). In the case of a positive test, we will follow our current protocols, which include isolation and official release by the Kittitas County Public Health Department.
