Central Washington University's Central Theatre Ensemble has partnered with the Cascadia Hazards Institute to bring the stories of the Nisqually earthquake to life in One Day in Cascadia: The Nisqually Earthquake Stories.

One Day in Cascadia incorporates interviews, research materials and stories from the media during that time.

“Natural disasters provide a lot of material for drama,” said Jay Ball, professor and graduate coordinator, Theatre and Performance Studies, who partnered with scientists from the institute to develop the script. "It was a great experience, developing a work that was based on both the arts and the sciences."
