Paul Ballard, Ed.D. has been appointed as CWU’s new dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies to start on April 1.

“Paul has an amazing breadth and scope of experience,” said Provost and Vice President Marilyn A. Levine, Ph.D. “His demonstrated accomplishments will serve the university well.”

Ballard completed his doctorate and master of Education degrees at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He comes to CWU directly from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he served as associate dean in the College of Professional Studies and as acting associate vice president for Enrollment Services.

Ballard previously worked at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, where he served as assistant dean, department chair, program director and faculty. He has extensive experience in program accreditation and assessment and over five years experience in higher education administration.

"I am very excited about joining the Central Washington University family and the opportunity to work with an excellent faculty and staff to help shape the future of our students," said Ballard.

Ballard attended the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard University in 2014 and has interests in research on new program development, online and competency-based program assessment and in streamlining the assessment process for accredited programs.
