Lipston and Farrand Land on NSCAA West Region Scholar Team

Central Washington University seniors Kayla Lipston and Hadli Farrand were both named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Women's College Division All-West Region Scholar team.

Farrand--who majors in public health with a nursing specialization--carries a 3.95 grade point average and was a first team midfield selection and one of just two Great Northwest Athletic Conference players to earn a spot of the first team.

Lipston earned honorable mention with a 3.40 grade point average in accounting.

Both players were catalysts for the women's soccer teams success on the field, helping the Wildcats to their second straight berth into the GNAC tournament. Their on the field leadership coupled with their standout performances in the classroom have earned them this award.

To be eligible for this award a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA throughout their career; start in more that 50-percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team.
