House budget plan funds Samuelson

One of the biggest winners in the state House Democrats' proposed 2015-17 capital budget on Friday was Central Washington University, to which the House members propose appropriating $97 million toward construction projects, including a large-scale renovation of the Samuelson building.

The $58 million renovation at Samuelson would turn the old student union building into a computer science and mathematics facility.

"The capital budget was fabulous," said Linda Schactler, CWU’s chief of staff. "It’s probably a record."
