Bale Breaker Brewing Co. in Yakima held a release party for its special AlumnIPA on Friday, January 14.

The brew date for the AlumnIPA was December 21, and two release parties were scheduled for the public to sample the new brew. The first release was at Bale Breaker's Yakima location on January 14, and the second is at Bale Breaker's Ballard location on Friday, January 21.

"Working as a brewer for Bale Breaker was a long-time dream of mine, and the CWU Craft Brewing program was the first step towards achieving that dream," said Production Brewer Casey Stephenson. "Collaborating on AlumnIPA, our beer recipe to celebrate the CWU alumni, has been a wonderful milestone in my craft beer journey!"

The release parties each feature a raffle, tasting of the newly released brew, a limited quantity of CWU-branded pint glasses, and the chance to meet the alumni brewers. This Friday's free event in Seattle begins at 6 p.m. and is open to all ages, with proof of vaccination required.

"We are always excited to celebrate Wildcat success stories, and this collaboration with our CWU alumni at Bale Breaker gives us a great reason to gather the Wildcat Nation and do just that," said Casey Ross, director of alumni and constituent relations at CWU.
