Central Washington University students who want to travel from the east side of the state to the Interstate 5 corridor now have a safe, affordable option with the return of FlixBus.

The low-cost, environmentally conscious transportation service is resuming service east of the Cascades after putting most of its Northwest routes on hold for more than a year due to COVID-19 safety precautions.

The temporarily suspended routes between Spokane and the Puget Sound region have returned, meaning Ellensburg residents can now take advantage of the inexpensive transportation option.

"We're pleased to see FlixBus resuming its innovative service that will provide regional transportation connections for our community and students," said Andreas Bohman, CWU's vice president of operations. "The stop on our campus aligns with our multimodal transportation strategy and features convenient connectivity for students, employees, residents, and visitors."

The Ellensburg FlixBus stop is located at 900 E. 10th Ave., on the yellow curbside north of Starbucks and adjacent to the entrance to the CWU parking lot on University Avenue.

Route schedules are avaialble at flixbus.com and on the FlixBus smartphone app.
