Five rugby women named all-Americans

Five CWU women's rugby players were named 2015 USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Rugby All-Americans on Monday.

Having played in two national championships in their first season as a varsity sport, it is no surprise the Wildcats landed the second-highest number of all-Americans released by usarugby.org.

Sophomore Cassidy Meyers and freshman Asinate Serevi were selected to the group of all-American backs, which includes 31 other athletes. Joining them are forwards Haley Schafer, Suliana Tausinga, and Angela Ve'evalu.

All five players will return next year, as the team only lost two seniors this past season.

The only other team with more all-American selections was Penn State, which defeated the Wildcats in both the 15s and 7s national championship matches.
