CWU's Steve DuPont Appointed to Ellensburg City Council

Steve DuPont, CWU’s assistant director of government relations, was appointed to the Ellensburg City Council during its regular meeting June 1. DuPont was one of eight applicants vying for the vacancy left by former council member Tony Aronica.

DuPont, a 13-year resident of Ellensburg, said he’s always wanted to run for City Council, but is unable due to his extended absence during the annual legislative session in Olympia. DuPont is not running for the council position in this year’s election; his appointment will last until an elected candidate is sworn in.

DuPont has a master’s in higher education from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a bachelor’s in construction management from CWU.
