CWU's Mike Reilly to Play for CFL Championship

  • November 30, 2015

Former Central Washington University quarterback Mike Reilly has led the Edmonton Eskimos to the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup after defeating the Calgary Stampeders 45-31.

Reilly, who led CWU to three playoff appearances and broke nearly every CWU passing record, has been the catalyst to the Eskimo's current nine-game winning streak that started after he returned from injury.

Reilly was injured in the teams second contest of the season and returned in week 12 with the Eskimo's owning a 6-4 record. In his first game back he threw for 352 yards three touchdowns en route to a 27-16 win over Calgary. From that point on the Eskimos have failed to lose a game, own the leagues best record at 14-4, and now face the Ottawa REDBLACKS for the championship.

Reilly won a GNAC Championship as a member of the Wildcats but never got further than the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.

You can tune in and watch the former Wildcat great play for the Grey cup this Sunday, Nov. 29 at 3:00 p.m. You can watch the game online at www.cfl.ca or on ESPN2.
