CWU’s Joseph Han Earns National Award for Facilities Management Leadership
- May 8, 2017
The nation’s largest educational facilities association, APPA, has honored Joseph Han, vice president of operations at Central Washington University, with the APPA Fellow Award, the organization’s highest award for individual achievement.
According to the association, the award recognizes individuals for their specific accomplishments in the field of educational facilities management as well as for expectations for continuing involvement in APPA’s leadership program through research and mentoring.
The organization’s highest individual award requires active membership for at least 10 years, demonstrated mastery of the curricula taught in the APPA’s Institute for Facilities Management and APPA’s Leadership Academy, completion of an approved research project, authorship of an article for APPA, and references from professional colleagues.
“This is an unexpected honor,” Han said about the award. “As a longtime member of the organization, I’ve enjoyed my association with APPA, which has served as an invaluable resource for staying current on the issues and best practices in facilities management.”
Han will be formally presented with the award during an evening banquet ceremony during the APPA/PCAPPA/Bay APPA 2017 conference in San Francisco on July 22.
