CWU’s Holiday Weekend for the Arts a Seasonal Feast for the Senses
- November 19, 2018

A cavalcade of music, art, and theatre events awaits during Central Washington Universityâs Holiday Weekend for the Arts on November 30 through December 2.
The inaugural event of the weekend will be the Hertz Hall Holiday Concert, at 7:00 p.m. on November 30, in the Hertz Hall Auditorium. The concert, which features a rich variety of original and traditional work, is a celebration of the Department of Musicâs 125th Anniversary and a farewell to Hertz Hall. The building is scheduled to be demolished in 2019.
Additionally, the Art + Design Department will host the Student Art Sale, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on November 29 in Gallery 231, Randall Hall, on the CWU campus. A free breakfast reception also will be provided on Saturday, December 1; reserve your place with a complimentary ticket from Wildcat Tickets, www.cwu.edu/tickets.
A perennial favorite, The Red Curtain Broadway Revue, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on November 29, November 30, December 1, and at 2:00 p.m. on December 2 in the McConnell Auditorium. This annual favorite features top-notch singing, dancing, and choreography from some of Broadwayâs best shows.
There will also be an Alumni reception in the Milo Smith Theatre prior to the evening showing of the Red Curtain Broadway Revue on December 1. Those wishing to attend can get tickets here.
The finale of the weekend will be the CWU Symphony Orchestra Concert, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on December 2 in the McIntyre Music Building Concert Hall. The program includes favorites such as Nicolaiâs Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor and Tchaikovskyâs Symphony No. 4.
The concert also features a new violin concerto composed by Pulitzer Prize-winner, Kevin Puts, which will be performed by violinist Rachel Patrick.
Tickets for all of the events may be purchased from Wildcat Tickets, www.cwu.edu/tickets. Advance purchase is strongly advised.
Parking in CWU lots is free after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, except for specially marked spaces and residence hall lots.
