With one of the best seasons in school history last year, Central Washington University's women's soccer team has been selected third in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's preseason coaches poll.
The Wildcats finished 11-6-1 last year, and 10-3-1 in conference play. They reached the semifinals of the GNAC tournament. Central was eliminated in a 2-1 loss to Seattle Pacific, a team it beat twice earlier in the season.
"The third-place selection is something to admire, but we know it's a long season ahead," Central head coach Michael Farrand said in a press release. "There are a lot of tough teams in our conference, and we are excited at the chance to compete and build off of our success last year."
