CWU women in playoffs for first time in 12 years

So it wasn't the preferred route that Central Washington took to the GNAC women's basketball tournament.

Then again, the Wildcats are there. And even if they're the No. 6 seed, and as such will oppose perennial power and cross-mountain rival Western Washington at 4:15 p.m. (PST) today in Billings, Mont., they have reached the postseason for the first time in 12 years.

"We’re in," first-year coach Jeff Harada said Tuesday in a telephone interview. "We wanted to finish the season on a higher note, but the positive thing is we did enough during the regular season to get here."
