CWU Students Ask to Rename D Street to Wildcat Way

  • August 19, 2015

The Associated Students of Central Washington University asked the Ellensburg City Council on Monday to consider renaming D Street to Wildcat Way in an effort to increase school spirit.

The city’s Public Works Department estimates the total cost of renaming the street at $4,600, which includes new signs and staff time for installation.

The name change would coincide with ASCWU’s 100th year anniversary and the university’s 125th anniversary. Brittany Kinsella, vice president for clubs and organizations for the ASCWU, said the name change celebrates both the university and the student board and enhances the collegiate atmosphere.
