CWU Orchesis dance performance runs through June 3

  • June 2, 2017

Central Washington University’s Orchesis dance performance each spring is not a last-minute affair. In fact, the company starts the process early in fall quarter each year to get prepared for its dance showcase.

Performances are planned 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in McConnell Hall Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and students and $5 for CWU students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cwu.edu/tickets.

Director Therese Young said the company has been around for more than 30 years at CWU, and features modern styles, jazz and a little ballet and tap. The company draws from Central’s dance minors, but also from students all around campus. Young said the program just got a dance major approved, so a bachelors of arts in dance will be available starting this fall.
