Central Washington University’s football team was picked second in the conference in the preseason coaches poll, released Monday by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Defending-champion Azusa Pacific (10-2, 9-1 GNAC) finished first, and the Wildcats, who received 28 of the 36 votes, placed one point higher than Western Oregon University. Azusa Pacific’s one loss last season was at home against Central.
Humboldt State, Simon Fraser, Dixie State and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology rounded out the list. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their teams.
