Central to host Can-Am Series women’s rugby

Two Central Washington players have been selected to play for the United States in the Can-Am Series against Canada later this week in matches hosted by CWU in Ellensburg.
Central sophomores Asinate Serevi and Jenny Johnson will compete for the U.S. squad in the under-20, aggregate score competiton, which is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Saturday on the Wildcat Rugby Pitch.
Serevi is a 5-foot-11 center from Seattle. Johnson, from Kent, is 6-0 and plays the lock position.
Both players won spots on the team after being invited to James Madison University in Harrisonberg, Va., to try out, then joined 33 other players at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo., and were eventually named to the squad.
