Catie Fry Named to AVCA All-West Region First Team

  • December 1, 2014

Central Washington University junior setter Catie Fry has been selected to the 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II All-West Region first team for her accomplishments this season.

"I am really excited, it's a huge accomplishment and I couldn't have produced numbers I had without my passers and hitters, and the coaches pushing us to become the best players we could be," Fry said about her selection. "This is a reflection of our team, and institution. Without the support of teammates, coaches, fans, and our administration, we don't have the season we had this year. This accomplishment is all of ours."

Fry led the Wildcat volleyball team to a 19-8 record this year and the team's third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament. Fry totaled 1.041 assists on the season averaging 10.52 assists per set and was fifth on the team with 87 kills earning her All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference honors.

With the all-region selection Fry is eligible to be voted as an AVCA All-American, an honor she earned as a sophomore in 2013.
