The capital project, which began last fall, involved the installation of electronic access points on 250 exterior doors on the CWU Ellensburg campus. This security upgrade is intended to ensure the safety of employees and students after hours.

Starting this summer, all CWU employees will need to have the latest Connection Card Smartcard to access the buildings where they work during non-business hours. If our records indicate that you have an older-style Connection Card, you will receive a letter and you will need to have it replaced as soon as possible to ensure you have continued access.

Those who have an older card should have received an email last month reminding them to upgrade their cards.

If you are still using an older card, please visit the Connection Card Office right away to have your card replaced. The office, on the second floor of the SURC, can be reached at 509-963-2711 or concard@cwu.edu.
