4-0 Record Earns Kiana Wood GNAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

Junior pitcher Kiana Wood has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts this past weekend in Turlock, Calif. at the Tournament of Champions hosted by Stanislaus State University.

Wood was the pitcher of record in each of the Wildcats four victories over the weekend and posted a 4-0 record with three wins coming in relief. She held opponents to a .185 batting average in 24.1 innings of work posting a 1.15 earned run average.

Her performance earned her a selection to the all-tournament team.

Wood now owns a 15-3 record, which is tops in the GNAC, and her 2.31 ERA is second best in the conference.

She has now earned pitcher of the week honors three times this season, second-most in CWU history.

Wood and the Wildcats are back home for a four game series with Montana State Billings this Friday and Saturday.
