Holiday Gift Project helps CWU make the season bright

The holiday season is officially underway at Central Washington University with the 2026 Holiday Gift Project kicking off this week.

The annual President’s Office initiative, which began Monday, has been a beacon of joy for countless years, connecting members of the CWU community with the opportunity to uplift the spirits of local youth.

CWU staff and faculty are invited to make a heartfelt and personal gesture to local children in need by purchasing them a gift (or gifts) from their wish lists.

This season, our partner organizations are the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), Seedlings, and CWU’s Early Childhood Learning Center. These long-standing community partners aim to support families and children in times of need. We would like to ask for your help in sponsoring 180 local children this year.

Upon signing up to become a sponsor, you will receive an email detailing the child's age, clothing size, and a wish list for the season. There's no set contribution amount; every gesture, big or small, is received with gratitude.

Gifts can be delivered to the President's Office (Barge Hall, room 314) by Friday, December 4. Because some requests are “needs” as much as “wants,” we encourage participants to choose both a practical gift and a fun one, if possible. Please note: Monetary donations are not accepted.

If you or are interested in getting involved or need more information about the CWU Holiday Gift Project, please email CWUHoliday-gift@cwu.edu or call 509-963-2114.
