Central Washington University will host an Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE) visit by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) on October 14–16, 2026, as part of the university’s regular accreditation cycle.

During the visit, a peer-evaluation team from NWCCU — an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education — will review CWU’s effectiveness in fulfilling our mission and meeting the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and members of the public are invited to provide comments regarding CWU’s qualifications for accreditation. Third-party comments should address the university’s educational quality, institutional effectiveness, and compliance with NWCCU accreditation standards.

Comments must be submitted directly to NWCCU and received no later than 10 calendar days before the evaluation visit. Comments may be submitted electronically through NWCCU’s third-party comment process or mailed to:

Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities
Attn: Third-Party Comment
8060 165th Avenue NE, Suite 200
Redmond, WA 98052

Information about submitting third-party comments, including NWCCU’s policies and online submission process, is available on the Commission’s Upcoming Evaluations webpage.

Additional information about CWU’s accreditation and the university’s Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness is available on our accreditation website.

Questions regarding CWU’s accreditation process with NWCCU may be directed to the Office of the Provost, but all accreditation comments must be submitted directly to NWCCU.
