CWU awards $20,000 in scholarships at Regional High School Art Show

Ten high school students from the Yakima Valley have been selected to receive $2,000 scholarship awards from Central Washington University, in recognition of their artwork in this year’s Regional High School Art Show.
The scholarships, collectively totaling $20,000, were determined by members of the CWU Art + Design faculty and will be used toward enrollment in art classes at the university.
The winning students were recognized on Thursday, March 27, at the Yakima Valley Museum.

- “Right on the Money” by Ella Meeks (Riverside Christian School)
- “Where the River Meets Her” by Andrea Camacho (Toppenish)
- “Best Friends” by Myra Mendoza (Wapato)
- “Unveiled” by Milan Ly (West Valley)
- “I Am Girl” by Sophia Macias (West Valley)
- “Lost in Reverie” by Lesli Badillo (Davis)
- “Dewdrops of Life” by Jacky Arellano (Davis)
- “Reflections of Me” by Ingrid Giron (Davis)
Educational Service District 105 reported that 18 students had received awards for art pieces they submitted to the 2025 Regional High School Art Show. According to a news report, the exhibition featured 95 art pieces created by more than 75 students from 10 different school districts across the south-central Washington.
