In the spirit of Earth Day, CWU has a very special Sustainability Forum scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in SURC 137.
A number of special guest speakers will be visiting campus for the Sustainability Forum, including climate and energy experts from McKinstry Consulting and Cascadia Consulting. Subject matter experts from both firms will give an informational presentation on decarbonization and climate change solutions for the university, and they will facilitate an interactive, Jeopardy-style game for participants.
Kittitas County Solid Waste Director Patti Stacey will also join us to give a presentation on recycling practices at CWU and in the local community. CWU Sustainability has received a number of questions and concerns regarding recycling on campus, and we have invited the experts from Kittitas County to show us how recycled items from CWU and the community are collected and processed.
There will be opportunities to ask questions and share feedback during both presentations. Food and light refreshments will be provided.
If you are interested in learning more about how CWU is planning to transition away from using fossil fuels and be a leader in climate change solutions, you won't want to miss this event. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend.
Also happening next week in recognition of Earth Day, CWU Sustainability and our campus partners are hosting several events and activities between April 20-26. Visit the CWU Sustainability event page or subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter to learn more about the many Earth Day activities and sustainability initiatives happening at CWU.
