Josephine Wells

Lecturer

Josephine Wells is an active clarinetist, performing and teaching throughout Washington state. She is an alum of Central Washington University where she earned a Bachelor’s in clarinet performance and a Bachelor’s in music education. Josephine graduated with her Master’s in performance from the University of New Mexico. While studying in Albuquerque, Josephine played with a variety of orchestras including Santa Fe Pro Musica, the Santa Fe Symphony, and the New Mexico Philharmonic. Josephine is also a frequent player with the Yakima Symphony on clarinet and bass clarinet. Her principal teachers have been Joseph Brooks, Dr. Jeffrey Brooks, and Laurie DeLuca.

Josephine now lives in Seattle, where she enjoys teaching private clarinet and piano lessons. She also teaches clarinet for the Skagit Valley College Music Program under the direction of Dr. Diane Johnson. In her free time she enjoys visiting her family on Camano Island, exploring the outdoors, and traveling.
